Zachary Ahtee Jarrell, 16, of Metter passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Zach was a rising 11th grader at Metter High School where he was a linebacker for the Metter High Tigers and also played on the varsity baseball team. He was appointed to Habitudes, a character, leadership athletic program. Zach was a very active member in the youth group at Cedar Street Baptist Church. He had close ties with the St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Happening Community of Fernandina Beach, Florida. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and skiing. Zach had a great sense of humor, enjoyed people and always put others first. He was employed at Bi-Lo.

Survivors are his parents, Stewart and Cindi Crider Jarrell; two brothers, Lane and Bishop Jarrell; a sister, Grace Ann Jarrell; maternal grandparents, Billy and Ann Crider; paternal grandparents, Gary and Bonnie Jarrell; paternal great grandmother, Bertie Rigdon all of Metter; maternal grandmother, Emma Lou Crider Aughinbaug of Douglas and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services for Zach will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015, 11:00 am, at Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bo Fulginiti officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening, 5-8 pm, also at Cedar Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Prayer and Remembrance service, Thursday,7:00 pm, at Metter High Football field.
