Wynell Nabb Bowen Coursey Harrington

Wynell Nabb Bowen Coursey Harrington, 86, of Metter died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Camellia Health and Rehab in Claxton. Born in Tattnall County, she had lived most of her life in Metter. She was a 1947 graduate of Berry College and later graduated from Southern Business University in Atlanta. Nell began working with B&H Insurance Agency June, 1960 and retired in July, 2000. Very active as a member of the Metter First Baptist Church since 1965, she was a member of the Naomi-Ester Sunday School Class and had taught Sunday school in the local nursing homes. Since the beginning of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, she served as chaplain for the Ladies Auxillary and the American Legion as well for many years.

Preceding her in death were two husbands, Millard Coursey and Robert W. "Bob" Harrington; her parents, Leroy and Netter Kicklighter Bowen and Leon Rufus Nabb; and a brother, Issac Bowen.

Survivors are six daughters, Linda C. (Joey) Cook of Sylvania, Penny C. Olliff of Pooler, Lisa C. (Tway) Wells of Metter, Norma H. (Mike) Morrison of Roan Mtn., TN, Linda H. (Murphy) Ray of Rossville and Debra H. (Juan) Vallejo; a brother, Delan Bowen of Cobbtown; ten grandchildren, Jesse Brown, Kelly Cook, Robin C. Harris, Tracie Wells, Amy Wells, Rainey Olliff, Hanna Olliff, Portia Pelton, Talitha Ray and Mary Vallejo; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, at Metter First Baptist Church with Dr. William Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Metter First Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Naomi-Ester Sunday School Class. Remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
