Willie Raymond Taylor, Jr., 63, of Cobbtown died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Vidalia. He was born in Augusta and lived in Savannah for years before moving to Cobbtown 25 years ago. Raymond was a retired welder with the Boilermakers Union. He was a devoted companion and loving father who was passionate about animals and working the land. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Raymond Taylor, Sr. and Margie Lillian Taylor Hall and a brother, Charles Taylor.
Survivors are his companion of 13 years, Faye Jackson of Cobbtown; a son and daughter-in-law, Willie Raymond Taylor, III and Ashley of Lawrenceville; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Ryan James of East Dublin; a sister, Rosaline Hewitt of Shallotte, NC; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Gilbert Womack officiating. Burial will be in the Cool Springs Cemetery.
