Willie Mae Cox Sapp, 75, of Cobbtown died Monday, October 8, 2012, at her home under the care of her family and Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was born in Toombs County, the daughter of Willie M. and Allie Phillips Cox. She has lived in Cobbtown most of her life and was a retired seamstress at Argo Mills in Metter. Willie Mae was an avid gardener who loved working in her yards and canning vegetables. She attended Pine Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bennie Ray Cox and Barnell Cox. Survivors are her husband, Harry Sapp of Cobbtown; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David C. and Delisa Sapp of Cobbtown and Rayburn E. Bryant of Rincon; a daughter, Diane Sapp of Cobbtown; a sister, Hattie Tillison of Midway; five grandchildren, Dylan Sapp, Jase Dyess, Jayla Dyess, Shawn Bryant and Tara Bryant; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Marvin Dixon, Buddy Collins, Ronnie Mosley, Larry Johnson, Randy Brown and Ronnie Peszynski. Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
