William Jimmy Page, Sr.

d. May 18, 2024

William Jimmy Page, Sr., of Metter, passed away late Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Jimmy was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on April 11, 1943, to William Tucker Page and Geneva Lively Page.  It was 1961 in Swainsboro that Jimmy got his first job in Radio as a disc jockey for WJAT.  In the mid 1960’s he began his studies at Georgia Southern College, now Georgia Southern University, in Statesboro and began his job as a disc jockey in Metter at G105.  He received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and broadcasting in the late 1960’s and continued working in Metter.  It was during this time that Jimmy made the transition from disc jockey to sales and later became the owner of the radio station.   In 1998 G105 became 103.7 The Boomer!  In addition to his love and lifelong career in radio, a career which spanned sixty-one years, Jimmy’s love for the Lord was evident through his ministry in gospel music.  He was known by many of the well-known gospel bands and on several occasions booked them to come to Metter as well as other areas to perform.  Jimmy served the Lord through his own ministry, “Jimmy Page Ministries” and traveled country-wide ministering for his Lord.  He was married to his confidant, best friend, and soul mate, Olivia Lucille Carroll Kitchens Page, with whom he loved to travel.  Their favorite place to go was Gatlinburg, TN, visiting there several times each year.  It was in Gatlinburg that Jimmy proposed to Lucille at the Open Hearth Restaurant and they visited the area for their anniversary every year.  They also loved going to Daytona Beach for vacation. Jimmy was a charter member of Metter Community Fellowship Church and, at the time of his passing, was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bulloch County. Jimmy served in the Georgia National Guard for twelve years reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant.  In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, William Jimmy Page, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Olivia Lucille Carroll Kitchens Page of Metter; two sons, Timothy Tucker Page (Julie), of Acworth and Sgt. First Class Charles Edwin Kitchens, II of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a daughter, Melissa Ann Kitchens of Grovetown; a brother, Sammy Page (Vickie) of Warner Robbins; four grandchildren, Baylee Kitchens, Jordan Williams, Tyler McGahee, and Hunter Page; one great-grandchild, Santiago Garcia; his sister-in-law whom he referred to as his “wife-in-law”, Sissi Carroll Dozier (Charles); brothers-in-law, Rev.
