William Harmon Woods, Jr.

William Harmon Woods, Jr. a lifelong resident of Metter, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2025, at Wellstar Hospital in Augusta.

Born on January 8, 1957, William dedicated his life to hard work and family. Over the years, he held several positions, working for Wallace for more than twenty years, contributing to the family farm, and spending time as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Anne Woods, and his brother, David Woods.

William is survived by his loving wife, Linda Woods; his father and stepmother, William “Harmon” Woods, Sr. and Joyce Woods; his stepchildren, Sam Rigdon, Eric Rigdon (Terry), Phillip Price, and Danielle Sowell; his stepsister, Linda Waters (Tim); his stepbrother, Roger Callaway (Sandy); his grandchildren, Lexy Rigdon, Erica Rigdon, Dalton Rigdon, and Gabby Rigdon; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, in Metter, with Elder Mike Newman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Interment will follow at Primitive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
