Wayne Ray Strange, 74, of Cobbtown, died late Tuesday night, September 13, 2022, at his residence.

Wayne was born on December 14, 1947, in Candler County and was a son of Wendell R. Strange and Madie “Penny” Dowdy Strange.  He worked in land construction having owned his own business.  Wayne lived in the area all of his life and was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.  He loved to fish and he was a collector of Fine Arts.  Wayne loved to fix things and others would even bring things to him for repair. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Pat” S. Allen and his daughter-in-law, Kelley Strange.

Surviving are his wife, Debi Strange of Cobbtown; two daughters, Leigh-Ann Lowe and her husband, Johnny, of Brooklet and Susan Strange of Cobbtown; a son, Allen Strange of Cobbtown; a step-son, Gavin Schnelle of Douglas; two sisters, Angie Strange of Reidsville and Barbara DeLoach and her husband, Theron, of Shellman Bluff; two brothers, Terry Strange of Reidsville and Andy Strange of Gainesville; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Morris, Luke Strange, Mark Ruehling, Dalton Schnelle, Drake Schnelle, and Hunter Rahn

Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Strange and Chris “Buffy” Wilson.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
