Velma Jones Collins

Velma Jones Collins, 95, of Candler County, passed away December 27, 2021, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Metter, Ga.

She was the daughter of Lauran Jones and Mellie Sapp Jones.  Mrs. Collins worked in the textile industry for many years as a machine operator in Metter. She was a member of Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Candler County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Morgan Collins.

Surviving are a nephew, Walter Jackson; four nieces, Margaritt Pruitt, Gloria Pruitt, Sabrina Jarrel and Jeanette Jackson

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Richard Davis Officiating.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
