Tommy Lee Woods, 67, of Brooklet and formerly of Metter, died early Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Born in Lyons, he was a son of Willie and Vera Woods. Mr. Woods worked in Construction and Farmed. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lyons where he attended all his life. Mr. Woods enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by sisters, Gayle Woods, Faye Woods, Doris Rewis and brothers, Jerry Woods and Teddy Woods.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Roberson Woods of Brooklet; daughter, Cynthia Morgan (Steven) of Brooklet; sons, Joseph Lee Woods of Waycross, and Tommy Jene Woods (Stephanie) of Newberry, South Carolina; six grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Woods, Billy Woods and Charlie Woods and three sisters Ruthie Robertson, Mary Sikes, and Betty Lively; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Woods will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 11 o’clock in the morning. The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock until the funeral hour.
Interment will be in the church Cemetery.
