Timmy Allen Sikes

Timmy Allen Sikes, 57, of Metter died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Green Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milledgeville. Born in Collins, he was the son of John Lester Sikes, Jr. and Evelyn Findley Sikes and was a 1974 Reidsville High School graduate. Timmy lived most of his life in Metter and was a long distance truck driver until he had to retire because of health complications. As an active member of Cedar Street Baptist Church, he was a devoted choir member enjoying singing specials. Timmy was a loving Daddy and Granddaddy who loved fishing and drag racing. He was a generous person never meeting a stranger.

Timmy was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Findley Sikes; brother, Ricky Sikes, an infant brother, and an "adopted son", Eric Storey.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Rufus Allen and Jamie Sikes of Camak; a daughter and son-in-law, Cori Ann and Mike Reese of Wrightsville; his father, John Lester Sikes, Jr. of Metter; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Patty Sikes of Metter; a sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ricky Bragg of Metter; a sister-in-law, Ginny Wallace Sikes of Metter; four grandchildren, Cooper and Bella Sikes, Riley Parham and Reagan Reese; and a special friend, Kathy Storey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 2:00 PM, at Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Guido and Rev. Casey Shaw officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 5-8 PM, at the church also. Pallbearers will be Deacons of the Cedar Street Baptist Church.
