Theresa Moore Hughes, 58, of Metter and wife of Richard John Hughes, died Friday, June 16, 2017.

Born in Savannah, she was a daughter of Harold Hicks Moore and Evelyn Simmons Moore.

She was a member of Grace Community Church for over fifteen years and she had a love for the little people (children) and loved helping in the nursery.  Mrs. Hughes was an office manager for Candler Machine.  She loved kayaking, golfing, fishing, gardening, and riding dirt roads.  Mrs. Hughes also loved to dance, had a love for animals, and spending time with her family and friends.  She had a big heart and was there to stand up for the “little man” when needed.

Surviving are her husband, Richard John Hughes of Metter; her son and two daughters, Kevin Elaine Bruner (Chris) of Metter, Richard John Hughes, Jr. (Amy) of Evans, and Melinda Franklin (Trent) of Metter; a brother, Thomas Nathaniel Moore (Esther) of Metter; a sister, Pam Holloway (Lamar) of Metter; eight grandchildren, Adrian Franklin, Brayden Burke, Braxton Burke, Dymri Franklin all of Metter, Emma Hughes and Delk Hughes of Evans, Alana Bruner and Cullen Bruner all of Metter; several nieces and nephews; her dog, Chester; and her grand-dog, Marshal.

The funeral will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11 am at Grace Community Church.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church on Tuesday.
