Theodore Russell Wells Jr., 86, of Hinesville, Ga., passed away on September 19, 2024.
Russell was born on July 8, 1938, in Long County, and was a son of Theodore Russell Wells and Willie Lee Salter Wells. He was a 1956 graduate of Bradwell Institute. In 1967, he married his true love, Latrelle Middleton.He was hard-working and dedicated to his family. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family, his church, and God. He was a man known for his kindness and generosity and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed doting on his grandkids and great grandkids. In addition to his loving wife, Russell was preceded in death by his two infant sons, John Wesley Wells and Ralph Issac Wells, his daughter, Penny Wells, his parents, and his brother, Eugene Wells.
He is survived by his son Rick Wells and his wife, Linda, his daughter Suzanne Wells Hunt and her husband, Tommy; his sister, Myrtice Edwards of Hinesville; grandchildren, Amy Jaeger and her husband, Ben, Jessica Woods, James Penley and his wife Kaitlin, Stephanie Beaudry, Cole Hunt, Klein Hunt, Krews Hunt, Sean Burbano and his wife Kim and Michael Burbano; his 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A special thank you goes out to all the caregivers and nurses who took such wonderful care of him, especially Ricky Venson and Sonia Johnson. They went above and beyond to make sure he had anything he needed. Our family is forever grateful.
The visitation will be from 12- 1 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel on September 21 with the funeral following at 1:00.
Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m.at Gum Branch Cemetery in Hinesville, Ga.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Regency Southern Care Hospice.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
