Susan Renee Butler, 46, of Savannah died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Candler/St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah. Renee was a 1986 graduate of Sol. C. Johnson High School in Savannah and lived 15 years in Metter before returning to Savannah in 2009. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse in home care. As a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, she was active in the church ministries. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord, spending time with her children, grandchildren and family.
Survivors are two children, Adam Butler and his wife, Amy, of Savannah, Keri Bird Crosby and her husband, Mitch, of Metter; her mother and step-father, Sheryl and Denny Thompson of Metter; her father, Marion Butler of Savannah; a brother, Corbin Butler and his wife, Erin, of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Donna Thompson of Savannah and Sherri Durden and her husband, Dustin, of Metter; three granddaughters, Makaila, Sydney and Camryn; two grandsons, Landon and Baiden and soon-to-be, baby Charlotte; her Christian mentor friends, Marcie and Jack Hamilton of Calvary Baptist Church of Savannah.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 am, at the Cedar Street Baptist Church with Rev. Casey Shaw and Rev. Laurence Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jason Atteberry, Dustin Durden, Zack Stanford, Mitch Crosby, Tommy Hurst and Keith Purvis.
