Steve "Moose" Pitts

Steven Douglas “Steve””Moose” Pitts, Jr., of Metter, died on July 27, 2022, in Cape Coral, Florida.

Steve was born in Corning, New York on June 30, 1984, to Steven Douglas Pitts, Sr. and Mary Fleming Mikell.  He moved to Georgia in 2010 and was a member of Restoration Worship Center.  Steve was the co-owner of Pawsitive K9 Connections in Metter and also worked at Hiser Tile and Marble in Cobbtown. He was 32nd Degree Mason having been a member of Ridgeway Lodge #104 in Garfield and was the vice-president of the Statesboro Shrine Club.  Steve loved parading with the Shriners, he loved to eat, he loved his dogs, and always playing jokes.  In addition to his mother, Steve was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Dave Hiser and his sister, Hope Pitts.

Surviving are his wife, Jessica Pitts of Metter; his sons, Remington Lane Pitts and Steven Douglas “Trey” Pitts both of Statesboro; the mother of his children, Darla L. Saura of Statesboro; his father, Steven Douglas Pitts, Sr. (Cindy); his adoptive mother, Debbie Hiser; his brothers, Nicholas Hiser (Rita) and Christopher Hiser (Jennifer); his sisters, Danielle Salter, and Katie Thompson; and lots of nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

The memorial service will be held 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel on Saturday.
