Shelia Kay Cardell

Shelia Kay Cardell, 63, formerly of Griffin, GA, died early Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Pleasant View Nursing Center in Metter, GA.

Born in Griffin on December 16, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Edna Cardell. Ms. Cardell had a love for nature and her family. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards immensely, especially if she was winning.
Ms. Cardell was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Deborah Phillips & Joe Eady; and nephew, Tim Smith.

Ms. Cardell is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & Matthew Newton of North Carolina; a grandson, Wesley Newton; brothers, Keith & Martha Cardell and Gerald Cardell; sisters, Sandra & Richard Smith and Lynn & David Butler; aunts, Peggy Jones and Judy Martin; uncles Marvin Dukes & Roy Dukes; and her many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday December 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Haisten McCullough Funeral Home in Griffin.

Private interment will follow in the previous Teamon Road Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness, Georgia Chapter, 4120 Presidential Pkwy #200, Atlanta, GA 30340.
