Sandy Yates

Sandra “Sandy” Clara Yates of Cobbtown and formerly of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Sandy was born in Tampa, Florida and lived for the last several years in Shreveport, Louisiana before moving to Cobbtown last year. She was a very good cook and baked many sweets.  Beyond everything, Sandy was an animal lover and had several dogs that were her children.  Sandy was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Nail Reynolds and James “Jim” Reynolds; an aunt, Joyce Oliver; and cousins, Lynn Alberson Fail and Ginger Oliver.

Surviving are her father, Milton Yates of Clewiston, Florida; aunts and uncles, Janice and Elbert Alberson, Betty and Bill Kulick, Buddy and Ellen Nail and Carroll Olver all of Cobbtown; and several cousins including a very special cousin, Leigh Alberson of Cobbtown.

A private service and burial will be held at a later date.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown is in charge of the arrangements.
