Russell Mcdaniel, Jr.

Russell McDaniel, Jr., of Metter, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.

Russell was born in Grafton, West Virginia and was a son of Russell McDaniel, Sr. and Ella Takacs McDaniel.  He was a retired cook, having worked for the Pond House, Bevericks, and Jomax.  He loved to cook and knew each of his customers and how to cook their  food to their satisfaction.  Russell knew just about everyone in Metter and loved to ride around and visit with his friends and family on a regular basis. He was a kind man and was loved by many in the community.  He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.  In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany McDaniel, a brother, Danny McDaniel, and a nephew, Shane Coole.

Surviving are his son, Nathan Hampton (Shawnee); three daughters, Angel Solis (Francisco), Amanda Scalf

(Devon), and Samantha McCartha (Mark, Jr.); his brothers Randall McDaniel, Donald McDaniel, Sr. and David McDaniel; his sister, Tammy Curtis (Chuck); his grandchildren, Colton Hampton, Garrett Hampton, Landon Hampton, Wyatt Hampton, Jackson Brown, PJ Solis, Roman Solis, Savannah Solis, Lorelai Scalf, and Cameron McCartha; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 5 until 6 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 6 o’clock in the evening at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
