Roy James Biggers, 62, of Metter, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 under the care of Hospice at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA after an extended illness.
He was born in Statesboro, GA in 1958 and was the son of the late George and Memory Biggers. Roy grew up and lived all of his life in Metter and graduated from Metter High School. He worked at ITT Grinnell for 28 years and later for the City of Metter before becoming a full-time firefighter and First Responder. Roy was known for his ability to fix almost anything, helping anyone he could, and being an amazing husband, father, and Papa. He loved the river, camping, hunting, and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Biggers and Ricky Biggers, and his sister, Judy Woods.
Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Roxanne Lee Biggers; his son, Roy James Biggers, Jr.; his daughter, Racheal (Eddie) Holloway; his grandchildren, Damien Edwards, Alora Biggers, Roy Biggers, III, Shelby Holloway, and Gage Holloway; his sister Debra Wilson; his brother, Robert Biggers; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2:30 until 3:30 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
The graveside service will be held Monday, May 17, 2021 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon in Salem Church Cemetery with Elder Mike Newman officiating.
