Roy Madison Callaway, 74, of the Hillview Community near Collins, died Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Meadows Memorial Hospital in Vidalia. A lifelong resident of Tattnall County, he was president of his 1959 Collins High School graduating class. In the 1970's, he owned and operated Callaway Tractor Company in Metter and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Madison Callaway.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Nita Callaway of Metter, Scott Callaway of Collins and Bret and April Callaway of Metter; his mother, Blonnie Lanier Callaway of Collins; two brothers, Earl Callaway of Jesup and Bob Callaway of Collins; two sisters, Peggy Callaway of Collins and Faye Neely of Hepzibah; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Monday, November 9, 2015, at 6:30 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Rev. Walter Jarrell officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm before the service. Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Joseph M.
