Robert Steven Vogt, 69, of Metter died Friday, June 21, 2019 at Candler County Hospital.
Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Delmer Delos and Martha Helen Vogt and has lived in Metter for the past twenty-six years. Mr. Vogt was a Baptist and he was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps. He obtained his Associates Degree in Structural Engineering and was a retired cabinet maker having worked for Kitchen Craft Custom Cabinets for many years. He was a member of the NRA and loved woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, James Christopher and Alycia Vogt of Metter and Steven Edward and Linda Vogt of Cobbtown; two sisters and brother-in-law, Theresa and Danny Perkins of Tybee Island and Mary Doerner of Savannah; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Pam Morain of Savannah and Richard and Renea Johnson of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Christina, Aiden, Chloe, and Amelia; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glenville at 1 p.m.
