Robert E. McCall, 56, of Cobbtown died Monday, November 09, 2015 at his home under hospice care.
Born in Madisonville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late John Steven McCall and Nadine Hatcher McCall. Robert lived most of his life in Cobbtown and was one of the original Ohoopee River Rats. He worked for Akins Construction in Statesboro for twelve years and worked for the past sixteen years as a superintendent for Dabbs - Williams General Contractors. Robert loved his grandchildren, playing his guitar, and riding his boat in the Ohoopee River. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny McCall. Surviving are his wife, Karen McCall; his daughter and son-in law Chala and Ashley Harvey of Cobbtown; grandchildren, Bubba, Chevie, Hannah, and Mason Harvey, all of Cobbtown; his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Reuben Duckworth of Ashburn; his brother, Arthur McCall of Cobbtown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Reverend Danny Stillwell officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown. Pallbearers will be Robert Lively, Michael Lively, Wad Lively, Gwen Atteberry, Chris Creech, and Josh Moser. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Creech, Betty Jo Jarriel, Stephanie Atteberry, Lucky Padgett, George Fluet, Mike McDonaldson and special honorary pallbearers will be employees of Dabbs - Williams General Contractors. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jason Colbert for his assistance in bringing Robert Home, where he wanted to be.
