Robert Lee "R.L." Lively, Sr., 77, of Collins died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Community Hospice surrounded by his family with much love, respect and dignity. Born in Tattnall County and a lifelong resident, he was the son of Ralph Steven Lively, Sr. and Maggie McDaniel Lively. He raised and trained horses and rode in horse shows. R.L. retired from the Tattnall County Road Department and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a wonderful husband, daddy and granddaddy. Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant daughter; a brother, Ray Lively and a sister, Vera Kicklighter.
Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Erlene Sikes Lively of Collins; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert McCall of Collins; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert, Jr. and Donna Lively, Wade and Charlene Lively all of Collins, and Michael and Pam Lively of Vidalia; two brothers, Ralph Lively, Jr. of Hillview Community and Harvey Lively of Collins; two sisters, Nita Kicklighter of Cobbtown and Faye Gilmore of Metter; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 pm, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dustin Lively, Jimmy Ray Lively, Kenneth Beasley, Kevin Beasley, Lance Lively and Kyle Lively.
