Robert Benjamin "Benje" Coleman, 55, of Metter, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, after an extended battle with cancer. Born on February 28, 1969, in Savannah, Georgia, to Robert and Theresa Coleman, Benje lived most of his life in and around the greater Savannah area.
Benje was a man of many talents, most notably his exceptional skill and passion for bowling. He also held a deep love for football, with unwavering loyalty to his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Later in life, he found a welcoming home in Metter, where he quickly became a cherished member of the community.
Family was the cornerstone of Benje's life. He was a dedicated son to Stephen and Theresa Coleman and, the late, Robert and Robbin Coleman(surviving).
He was a devoted father to Kaitlyn (Thomas) Capper, Jordan (Jessica) Coleman, and Jadyn Coleman. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his six grandchildren: James, Braxton, Alayna, Kathryn, Braeleigh, and Jordan Jr., whom he adored.
Benje was a loving brother to Jamie (Heather) Coleman, Tim (Erin) Coleman, Vaughn Coleman, Britt (Natalya) Coleman, and Gena (Darin) Prazer. He was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, each holding a special place in his heart.
Benje was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Coleman.
His faith was an integral part of his life. Benje was a steadfast member of Cedar Street Baptist Church and found strength and fellowship in the Crossroads Bible Study. He was passionate about the church's missions and took great pride in supporting them.
He will be remembered for his hard work and generosity, his devotion to his family and faith, and his absolutely absurd sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A celebration of Benje's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Cedar Street Baptist Church following a 10:00 a.m. visitation.
Pallbearers will include Jordan Coleman, Tim Coleman, Jamie Coleman, Britt Coleman, Vaughn Coleman, Shawn Waldhauer, and Thomas Capper. Honorary pallbearers will include the gentlemen of the Crossroads bible study.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Benje's memory to Cedar Street Baptist Church to support the continued missions he held so dear.
