Richard Glen Bruner

Excelsior Community – Richard Glen Bruner, 56, died Monday afternoon, January 22, 2024, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons.

In his early years, Glen lived in Savannah and later in Rincon where he attended and graduated from Special Education Classes at Johnson High School in 1988.  He participated in many Special Olympics events throughout the years.  Glen was a boy scout with the Boy Scouts of America and attended Bible Baptist Church where he was part of the Lighted Pathway Sunday School Class.  Glen worked as a bag boy at Kroger and moved to the Excelsior area near Metter in 1990 with his family.  After moving to Excelsior, he attended Excelsior Baptist Church as well as many other churches in the area.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Paul Bruner, and his stepfather, Billie B. Hatcher.

Surviving are his father, Clyde (Ginny) Bruner of Excelsior; his mother, Marjorie Holton Hatcher of Savannah; his brothers, Keith (Kellie) Bruner and Chris (Kevin) Bruner all of Excelsior; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.
