Rex Albert Stanford, 62, of Metter passed away early Friday, April 2, 2021 at his residence after a brief illness.
Born in Metter he was a son of Carl H. Stanford and Mary Lou Collins Stanford Marsh. Rex was a machinist having worked for RC Machine Shop in Statesboro. He was a man who loved to work and loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren. Rex enjoyed the river, fishing, hunting and he would pretty much do anything for anybody. He was just a great kind of guy. He enjoyed shooting pool and could take just about any competitor that came his way.
Surviving are his wife, Teresa Jackson-Stanford of Metter; his son, Devon Stanford (Caitlin) of Metter; his daughter, Danielle Wolford of Cairo; Dustin “Merc” Mercer, who was like his son to him; his step-son and step-daughter, Ethan Jackson and Emily Jackson; his mother, Mary Lou Collins Stanford Marsh of Metter; two brothers, Carl Ricky Stanford (Debra) and Ronald Lee Stanford all Metter; his grandchildren, Kalli Ann Wolford and Brinson Mac Stanford; and several nieces and nephews including Zach Stanford (Kayle), Janna Bryant (Steven), Lori Lanier, Maddey Berry and Lawson Bryant.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 from 1 until 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will follow the service in Lake Cemetery.
