Ray Boyette, 78 of Metter, died Sunday morning, July 31, 2016 at Heritage Inn Health and Rehabilitation in Statesboro.
Mr. Boyette was a lifelong resident of Metter and was of the Baptist faith. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Georgia Department of Transportation for thirty years and loved hunting and stock-car racing. Mr. Boyette loved spending time at the Swainsboro Raceway. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyette was preceded in death by a son, Neil Morris.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Boyette and Nancy Boyette both of Metter and Ramona Marie Burgess and her husband, Donzello; a son Ricky Barber and his wife, Shelley of Swainsboro; two sisters, Margaret Collins of Twin City and Ann Smith of Statesboro; three brothers, Thomas Boyette of North Georgia and Clinton Boyette and Jimmy Boyette both of Dellwood; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
