Phyllis Gail Jarriel, 69, of Collins, Ga, passed away on January 8, 2024, at Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga.
Phyllis was born on February 20, 1954, to Benjamin and Mary Lucy Chastain Poole, in Anderson, SC. Phyllis has spent her life living in many different places, but she has spent the last 15 years of her life living in Collins, Ga. She worked for many years in various jobs, but she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, eating out, and reading. She also liked to go fishing in her spare time. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Thomas Poole and Mary Lucy Chastain Poole.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth (John) Pirie; a son, Gary (Donnie) Jarriel; a brother, Rodney Poole; a sister, Barbara (Ernie) Lombardi; her grandchildren, Mitchell Bodily, Darci Bodily, and Claire Pirie; her former husband, Jerry Coleman Jarriel Jr.; several nieces and a nephew; and several grandpups.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o’clock in the afternoon, prior to the service, on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tommy and Shirley Strickland Cancer Center at 1 Meadows Parkway in Vidalia, Ga, 30474.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown is in charge of the arrangements.
