Phillip Marion Wise

Phillip Marion Wise of Metter passed away late Friday night, June 10, 2022 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Mr. Wise was born in Mobile Alabama and lived in Florida for many years before moving to Metter in 2004.  He was a supervisor for Florida Natural Growers in the Citrus Industry in Florida for many years.  Mr. Wise was a veteran having served in the Florida National Guard.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandkids. Mr. Wise loved RVing with his wife and their group of friends.  Together, they travelled all over the United States and Canada.  One of the things he enjoyed in recent years was learning how to play golf with his grandson, Devin.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel M. Wise of Metter; two daughters, Donna Lynn Combs (Mark) of Orlando, Florida and Paula Marian Dekle (Chad) of Metter; his sister, Phyllis Alderman of Palatka, Florida; his grandchildren, Kayla D. Lawing, Sarah D. Combs, Devin O. Dekle, and Phillip M. Dekle; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o’clock in the evening on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Cedar Street Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Cedar Street Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Primitive Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
