Phillip Brunson

Phillip Wayne Brunson, age 81, of Metter, GA formerly of Dryden, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January, 13, 2021 at Azalea Nursing Home in Metter, GA.

Born January 5, 1940 in Tallahassee, FL he was a career US Navy veteran serving over 30 years. He spent his career on board submarines traveling all over the world. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and loved to ride his motorcycle.

Phil is survived by his daughter, Kirsten (Mike) Clark of Dryden, NY; son, Bruce (Susan) Brunson of  Texas; sisters, Joan (Jerry) Johnson of  Florida and Georgianne (Billy) Barineau of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Manderville, Eric (Kayla) Clark and Julie (Chris) Straface; 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Johnson Brunson in 2019.

There are no services planned.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dryden Veteran’s Memorial Home, 2272 Dryden Road, Dryden, NY  13053.
