Penny Coursey Olliff

Penny Coursey Olliff, 60, of Pooler and formerly of Metter, died Sunday, July 3, 2016.

Penny was the daughter of Millard Coursey and Wynell Coursey Harrington and lived in Metter for many years.  She was a 1973 graduate of Metter High School and a 1977 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia where she received her Registered Nursing Degree.  Some of Penny’s fondest memories were the times that she worked at Candler County Hospital in emergency medicine.  She was a very involved mother to her two daughters and known to some of their friends as a second mom.  In addition to her parents,  Penny was preceded in death by her step-father, Bob Harrington and a brother-in-law, Tway Wells.

Surviving are two daughters, Rainey Olliff and Hannah Olliff both of Savannah; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Joey Cook of Sylvania and Lisa Wells of Metter;  three step-sisters and step-brothers-in-law, Debbie and Juan Vallejo of Metter, Linda and Murphy Ray of Rossville, GA and Norma and Mike Morrison of Roan Mountain,Tennessee; and a god-daughter, Penny Jernigan of Savannah.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o’clock, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel of Metter.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joey Cook, Jesse Brown, Josh Gay, Richard Edenfield, Drayton Oliver, and Joe Paul Williams.

Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
