Peggy Rewis, 74, of Metter died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. A lifelong resident of Candler County, she was the daughter of Ralph W. and Edna Mae Lee Woodcock. Peggy was an inspector at American Argo Garment Factory for 30 years and attended the Lake Primitive Baptist Church. She loved flowers, fishing at the coast, cooking and was famous for her cheese straws. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Alvie Rewis and a son, Terry Rewis.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Mark Bonnette of Statesboro; sisters, Betty Leverett of Metter and Judy Hunnicutt of Monticello; a brother, Robert Woodcock of Sylvania; two grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Bonnette and Johnathan Mitchell Bonnette; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with burial in the Lake Cemetery with Elder Randy Waters and Elder Mike Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm before the service.
