Patricia Lorine Bonnema “Patty” Fail

Patricia Lorine Bonnema “Patty” Fail, a resident of Metter, Georgia, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. She was 68 years old.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Patty moved to Metter at a young age with her parents, Albert and Lorine Bonnema.  A homemaker at heart, Patty also worked for many years at the Metter Advertiser. She was of the Baptist faith and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping—she was an avid fan of QVC.

Patty was devoted to her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Trixie, who was her constant companion.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ronald D. Fail, Patty was preceded in death by her son, Joe Bonnema.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jennifer Fail of Metter; her grandchildren, Benji Fail, Gracen Fail, Camren Sickmeier, and Caylee Sickmeier; her sister and brother-in-law, Dianna and James Owens of Twin City; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service honoring Patty’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, in Metter. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lake Cemetery.
