Pamela Sue Vaughn Mood, a beloved mother, daughter, and caregiver, passed away peacefully on February 14th at the home of her devoted daughter, who remained by her side until the very end. She was 71 years old.
Pam was a dedicated educator, first as a schoolteacher and later at Bible Baptist Daycare, where her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many children. She spent the last decade of her life caring for her mother.
A woman of quiet strength and resilience, Pam faced her long battle with cancer with incredible courage. For someone who had never spent a night in a hospital before her diagnosis, she endured immense trials—chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple complicated surgeries. Through it all, she remained an example of perseverance and grace.
Pam’s legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and devotion. She was preceded in death by her brother, James B. Vaughn, Jr. and her father, James B. Vaughn, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Joyce E. Vaughn; her daughter, Jennifer Joyce Wells (Timothy); her sister, Kimberly Ann Rountree (Alden); and countless extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
We will have a quiet graveside service at Greenhill Cemetery in Alpine, TN at 12 noon on February 22, 2025 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
