Pamela Lynn Gilmore Holland, 60, of Metter died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at her home. Born in Jacksonville, FL, she moved to Metter in 1978. Pam retired in 2000 as county clerk after 14 years and also had been chief magistrate judge in her 24 years working for the Candler County Commissioners. She was a member of the former Metter BPW Club and the Georgia Clerks Association. Pam loved the river life, fishing, hunting and travelling with fond memories of Bennett's Landing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to two sons and two grandsons. A special friend, Sugar, her beagle was always by her side. Charles said, "she is a friend that can't be replaced." Preceding her in death were her father, Gary D. Gilmore; her mother, Dorothy Thigpen and a sister, Gale Goode.
Survivors are her husband of 43 years, Aaron Charles Holland, Sr. of Metter; two sons, Aaron Charles "Charlie" Holland, Jr. of Metter and Jason Earl (Christina) Holland of Morgan City, LA; two grandsons, Caleb Williams and Jared Holland of Morgan City, LA; three step brothers, Trent, Mark, and Rick Thigpen all of Jacksonville; and all her Holland family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Richard Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Primitive Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 pm, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Brown, Bill Gibbs, Mike Danford, John Michael Page, Mike Page and Chris Medlock. Family will gather at the home of Lanelle Jarriel, 169 Pineland Rd., Metter, GA. Remembrances may be made Primitive Grove Cemetery Fund, 15125 Canoochee Rd., Cobbtown, GA 30420.
