Orie Jean Willis Guthrie, 63, died Thursday, December 24, 2015, at her daughters's home in Cobbtown. Born in Callahan, Florida, she was the daughter of James Edgar and Margie Godwin Willis. Jean had lived in Cobbtown since 1997 moving from Toombs County. She was a homemaker, a wonderful mother and grandmother and was of the Pentecostal faith. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, James Bubba Willis and a sister, Ann W. Campbell.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ronny Collins of Cobbtown; three sons and daughters-in-law, Waylon and Marie Guthrie of Claxton, James and Janet Guthrie of Tyson and Michael Guthrie of Toombs County; seven grandchildren, Chris Guthrie, Blake Collins, Brandon Guthrie, Brock Guthrie, Chelsea Jones, Caleb Guthrie and Haley Jones; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 3:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Ronald Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Sunlight Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Blake Collins, Brad Black, Braxton Mercer, Trevor Hutto, Russell O'Conner and Jerry Stanfield.
