Nettie Lee Collins

Nettie Lee C. Collins, 93, of Metter died Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. The daughter of Will and Jennie White Collins was born in Bulloch County but lived most of her life in Candler County and was the last living of their seven children. She began working as a sales clerk with Kingery 5 & 10 and after many years, she retired from Durden Department Store. Mrs. Collins was a member of the EL Bethel Baptist Church. She loved people and cats and in life "she did it her way."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell C. Collins and a daughter-in-law, Thelma H. Collins.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Luree and Bobby Hendrix; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward and Joyce Collins and William D. "Bill" Collins all of Metter; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel with Rev. Michael Holt officiating. Burial will be in the EL Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon before the service. Pallbearers will be Neil Hodges, James Kight, Bobby Crosby, Troy Collins, Travis Hendley and Austin Hendley.
