Nell Collins, 86, of Metter died early Thursday at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Collins she was the daughter of Shelly and Myrtle Collins.  Mrs. Collins was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church where she attended the Mary Sunday School Class.  She was a Caregiver having worked at the April House, now Grace Gardens Assisted Living and was a homemaker.   Mrs. Collins loved to read, loved to fish, and loved working in the yard.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her brother, Buddy Sapp, and a great-grandson, Hunter Snipes.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Joy Collins Stephens and her husband, Brad of Cobbtown, and Patty and Larry Sikes of Metter;  a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sherry Collins of Orange Park, Florida; a sister, Louise Threat of Claxton; grandchildren, Jennifer Miller(Wes), Terry Collins(Jo Jo), Jeffery Sikes(Kristie), Michael Sikes, Jessica Collins and her fiancee', Tim and Matthew Collins; great-grandchildren, Austin Collins, Amanda Collins, Katie Collins, Kamille Collins, Katie Lockett, Jacob Sikes, Jenna Sikes, Hunter Carter, Chase Miller, and Leighanna Carter; two great-great grandchildren, Madison Collins and Landyn Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 2 o’clock at Cedar Street Baptist Church.  Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 until 8 o’clock at Cedar Street Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Cedar Street Baptist Church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Mary Sunday School Class of Cedar Street Baptist Church.
