Myrtice Anderson Conner, 96, died Monday, July 22, 2013 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The daughter of James Isaac and Isabelle Collins Anderson was born in Toombs County. She lived most of her life in Metter before moving to Statesboro in 2007. Mrs. Conner was a wonderful homemaker, gardener, quilter, seamstress, artist and cook who shared her many gifts. She played the guitar, piano and organ and loved gospel music. She was an avid George Strait fan and enjoyed travelling with Excursions Unlimited. Her greatest love and enjoyment were her grandchildren. A member of Faith Ministries of Metter, she attended Believers Church in Statesboro and had taught Sunday school in earlier years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quincey Conner; a son, Jimmy Conner; son-in-law, Shelton Hudson; brothers, Bennie and Cleveland Anderson; sisters, Thelma A. Edenfield and Ronella A. Collins.
Survivors are three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Hudson of Brooklet, JoAnne and Bobby White of Statesboro and Betty Woodward of Statesboro; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Conner of Metter; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 3:00 PM, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Pastor Scott Moore and Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Cemetery.
