Monte Russell Tillman, 70, husband of Paula Foss Tillman, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Augusta University (formerly Medical College of Georgia) in Augusta.

Born in Augusta he was a son of Monte Tillman and June Hotzclaw Tillman. He was Mayor of Pulaski, where he lived, pianist at his church where he was a member (Cedar Street Baptist Church) sunday school teacher, husband, dad, papa, brother, retired High School Football Coach, friend to many and so, so much more.  He was retired from Candler County Schools having been a Physical Education teacher and Coach and later Assistant Principal.  After his retirement, Mr. Tillman was the Headmaster of David Emanuel Academy.  He was the current Mayor of Pulaski and loved taking care of his city.  Mr. Tillman loved to play golf and loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Paula Foss Tillman of Pulaski; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Eric Fulmer of Nevils; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Lesli Tillman of Buford; a brother, Charlie Tillman (Betsy) of Indian Trail, North Carolina; two sisters, Susan Shiplett (David) of Greenville, South Carolina and Beth Shearer (Barry) of Downington, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Blake Fulmer, Brianna Fulmer, Jacob Tillman, Joshua Tillman, and Alexander Tillman; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Cedar Street Baptist Church from 5 until 7 o’clock in the evening.

The funeral will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Cedar Street Baptist Church.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.
