Minnie Barefield

Minnie “Beth” Barefield passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Evans Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of Gordon and Betty Cowart.  She was an educator with the Tattnall County School System.  Beth loved teaching and camping in the mountains.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Robinson and Gertrude Hornsby.

Surviving is her husband of twenty-eight years, Gerald Barefield; Children; Trey Simons (Megan), Eli Barefield, Elizabeth Todd (Michael), Robin Barefield Ellison (Chris), and Haley Barefield and Brian Barefield (Jonica) ; grandchildren, Cameron Simons, Caleb Simons, Wyatt Simons, Lillian Simons, Joel Kem, Carson Todd, Alexis Barefield, Abel Brown, Zachary Brown; brothers, Donald Harrison (Emily); sisters, Betty Mahn, and Donna Williams (Larry) and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.

The funeral service will be Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel with Dr. William Vansant officiating.

Interment will be at Sunlight Cemetery.
