Michael J. Benson

Michael J. Benson of Metter and formerly of Derry, New Hampshire died Saturday evening, October 29, 2022, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

Michael was born in Lawrence Massachusetts and lived in Derry, New Hampshire for a number of years before moving to Metter seven years ago.  He was veteran of the United States Army having served in Desert Storm.  He was a painter and loved to fish.  He loved his animals, especially his two dogs Bandit and Bear.  Michael loved his wife Jeanette dearly and loved spending time with her and taking care of her.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-seven years, Jeanette Benson; and a daughter, Jessica Benson Johnston.

Visitation will be held from 5 unitl 6 o'clock in evening at Lake Primitive Baptist Church on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

The Memorial Service will be held at 6 o'clock in the evening at Lake Primitive Baptist Church on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
