Matthew Oliver "Matt" Odom

Matthew Oliver “Matt” Odom, 31, of Metter passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020.

Born in Metter, he was a son of Bobby and Elaine Odom.  Matt was a member of Excelsior Baptist Church and was a 2007 graduate of Metter High School.  He was a farmer with Gene Odom Farms and worked in fiber optics with Dish Network, Direct TV, Hargray Wireless, and Northland Cable.  Matt was a   genius when it came to working on Televisions.  He enjoyed his work on the farm and loved four-wheeling, motorcycles and enjoyed playing tennis.

Surviving are his wife, Brittany Michelle Odom of Metter; his children, Madison Michelle Odom and Aiden King Odom of Metter; his parents, Bobby and Elaine Franklin Odom of Metter; his maternal grandmother, Mary Franklin of Metter; his sister, Michele Mendoza and her husband, Jason of Metter; his brother, Grant Odom of Metter; and a niece, several nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Excelsior Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Merritt officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 o’clock in the afternoon at the church on Sunday.

Interment will be in Excelsior Baptist Church Cemetery.
