Dateline: Metter Infant Mary Abigail "Abby" Ward went to heaven Friday, May 24, 2013, cradled in her parents arms at their home. Abby is survived by her Mama and Daddy, Jonathan and Windy Ward of Metter; a sister, Melonie LeighAnn Ward; paternal grandparents, James and Gail Ward of Metter; maternal grandfather, Joby Ruel Martin of Swainsboro; paternal great grandfather, W.J. Joiner of Metter; two uncles, Jack George Brown of Pooler and Ryan Clair Martin of Brunswick; several cousins, great aunts and uncles and the New Beulah Church family.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Patricia Martin and her paternal great grandmother and namesake, Mary Evelyn "Sugie" Ward.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 3:00 PM, at New Beulah Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at New Beulah Church.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
