Mary Anne (Deboise) Simerson

d. February 8, 2018

Mary Anne Deboise Simerson, 76, of Metter and wife of Everett Simerson, died early Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Born in Cadillac, Michigan, she was a daughter of Frank and Bertha Emmons Deboise.  Mrs. Simerson was a homemaker and a member of Restoration Worship Center.  Mrs. Simerson married on September 3, 1960.  She was a very talented lady and loved to cook and taught herself to crochet. Making pot holders, baby blankets, hats, and mittens for her many grandchildren gave her tremendous joy. In her early years of marriage, she became a master of canning, “putting up”, venison, bell peppers, dill pickles and tomatoes. Mary had great compassion for all children. While raising her own, she “found”, adopted, and raised eight more children whom she loved as her own. It made no difference where they lived, she could make a house a home. If you ever met her you would not forget her. She loved her Heavenly Father and all her many children and grandchildren. One of her fondest memories were the time she collected clothes such as pants, shirts, dresses, etc. and set out to deliver them to their many grandchildren and when it came time to go, the car was so packed that there was only enough room for her and Everett in the car.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, twelve children and their spouses, some fifty grandchildren and over forty great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Restoration Worship Center in Metter.
