Martha Allen Sherman

Martha Allen Sherman, 75, of Metter, Georgia passed away on Tuesday morning, March 26, 2024, at Augusta University Medical Center.

Martha was born the daughter of Levy and Elvera Ellis Allen on December 3, 1948, in Metter, Ga. She grew up in the Metter community and was part of Metter High School’s graduating class of 1966. After graduating high school, she earned an associate’s degree from Swainsboro Technical Institute. She worked for many years with Candler County EMS, as an EMT and an office employee, until her retirement. Martha was married to her husband, Gene Sherman, for 43 years until his passing. In her spare time, Martha loved to enjoy a cup of coffee with her friends. She had a special love for her dog, Sophie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Sherman; a brother, Bruce Allen; and a sister, Jackie Bragg.

She is survived by her son Robbie (Sherri) Dollar; daughters, Kim Williamson and Jenni Sherman; grandchildren, Taylor Dollar, Maggie Dollar, Walker Dollar, Avery Beasley, Addison Beasley, Abbey Beasley, and Cody Williamson; great-grandchildren, CJ and Cyrus Williamson; and several nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 10 until 11 o’clock in the morning at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Interment will follow at Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery in Register, Ga.
