Margaret Inez McCollough Padgett of Cobbtown died early Saturday, September 21, 2019.

She was born on November 30, 1926 to Harley and Ella Sikes McCollough.  Mrs. Padgett was of the Church of God faith and attended Reidsville Church of God when she could.  She worked for Federal Pacific Incorporated for twelve years until they closed.  Mrs. Padgett loved to take care of her family and she cooked for them all of the time.   She would often try new recipes and bake all kinds of sweets.  Mrs. Padgett had a love for gospel music.  She was preceded in death by her husband of almost sixty years, Wallace Padgett, her son, Lucky Padgett, two grandsons, Tony Amerson and Louie Lynn, a son-in-law, Jimmy Driggers, all of her siblings, Curtis McCollough, Troy McCollough, Hattie Mae Rewis, Mattie Lou Kersey, Louise Padgett, Eloise Rainey, Katie Lee White, and Ruth Barber.

Surviving are her children, Marie Driggers of Cobbtown, Ann Lynn (Harry) of Collins, Jimmy Padgett (Judy) of Hephzibah, Judie Padgett of Collins; and adopted daughter, Lorraine O’Keefe of Collins; grandchildren, Madrid Padgett (Susan) of Augusta, Alex Padgett (Amy) of West Virginia, Jimmy Ray Driggers and Douglas Driggers both of Cobbtown; great-grandchildren, Jacob (Anna), Hannah, and Katie all of Augusta, Presley of West Virginia, and Jimmy Ray, Jr.(Madison) of Collins.

The funeral will be held 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel.   The family will receive friends from 1 o’clock until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Interment will be in Little Flock Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Padgett, Harry Lynn, Jacob Padgett, Madrid Padgett, Richard Lynn, Alex Padgett, and Ray Driggers.
