Manny "Butch" Rele Sikes

Manny "Butch" Reie Sikes, age 66, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, July 27, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Metter, Georgia and was preceded in death by his parents, Eurel Sikes and Gussie Thrift Sikes. Butch was a graduate of Southern School of Pharmacy (Mercer University) and was a pharmacist for forty years serving most recently at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia. One of the best descriptions of his life was written by a friend who described him this way: "He never met a stranger and never shied away from sharing his love of Jesus from a place of genuine love. The father heart of God was so evident in his life that people were drawn to him."

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Fordham Sikes; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Hillarie Sikes; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rob Warfield; and his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Taryn Sikes; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Linda and Jerry Craft of Cobbtown; Grandchildren, Aiden Lawson, Connor Lawson, Nate Lawson, Riley Sikes, Tallulah Sikes and Evangeline Sikes; Nephews, Chris and Craig Holloway.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 7pm-9pm at Restoration Life Church, 2692 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock is in charge of arrangements.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Christian Life Fellowship Church, in Cobbtown with Rev. Murl Gwynn and Rev. Paul Longgrear officiating. A cremain burial will follow in the Sunlight Cemetery. Guest book: www.kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com.
