Mr. Lynwood W. Wilson, 69, of Rincon and formerly of Metter, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Metter, he was a son of Walter Lynwood and Inez Hurst Wilson. Lynwood lived in Metter all his life before moving to Rincon eight years ago. He loved being a fire fighter and was retired from the Metter Fire Department after 35 years of service and he was also retired from Keller Ladders after 33 years of service there. He attended the Metter First Baptist Church in years past and loved hunting, fishing, mud bogging, and juking (country music).
Surviving are three daughters, Chastity Wilson Stafford of Rincon, Misty Elaine Jones of Augusta, and Stormy Patricia Jones of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Mary Annette Roberts of Metter; and eleven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Metter First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Interment will be in Lake Cemetery with full Fire Fighter Honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Fire Fighter Appreciation Dinner Fund, in care of Chastity Wilson Stafford who has set up a go fund me account on facebook.
