Lucio Delgado

Lucio Delgado, 44, of Metter passed away Friday morning at the Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Lucio was born in Veracruz, Mexico, but he came to the United States in 1998. He was the son of Marciel Delgado of Statesboro and Guillermina Canete of Veracruz. Lucio was a loving father, son, husband, and friend. He was a paver at Sike’s Bothers Inc. having worked there for almost 20 years in October. He enjoyed spending his free time with his best friend Louis Hernandez. He always had his friends and family laughing with his funny jokes.

Surviving is his wife of twenty-one years, Leonor Talamantes of Metter; his children, Isabel Ruiz, Lucia Delgado and son-in-law Joshua Shackelford of Claxton, Gillermo Delgado, and Diego Delgado of Metter; his brothers, Nabor Delgado of Millen and Marcelo Delgado of Sylvania; his sisters, Milagros Deglado of Statesboro, Rosa Delgado of Millen, and Reyna Delgado of Sylvania; his grandchildren, Melanie Pineda, Nahomy Hernandez, and Tate Shackelford of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Metter from 1 until 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The funeral mass will be held at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at the church on Wednesday.

Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.

Lucio Delgado, de 44 años, de Metter, falleció el viernes por la mañana en el Centro Médico de la Universidad de Augusta en Augusta, Georgia.

Lucio nació en Veracruz, México, pero vino a los Estados Unidos en 1998. Era hijo de Marciel Delgado de Statesboro y Guillermina Canete de Veracruz. Lucio fue un amoroso padre, hijo, esposo y amigo. Era pavimentador en Sike's Bothers Inc. y había trabajado allí durante casi 20 años en octubre. Disfrutaba pasar su tiempo libre con su mejor amigo Louis Hernandez. Siempre hacía reír a sus amigos y familiares con sus chistes divertidos.

Le sobrevive su esposa durante veintiún años, Leonor Talamantes de Metter; sus hijos, Isabel Ruiz, Lucia Delgado y yerno Joshua Shackelford de Claxton, Gillermo Delgado y Diego Delgado de Metter; sus hermanos, Nabor Delgado de Millen y Marcelo Delgado de Sylvania; sus hermanas, Milagros Deglado de Statesboro, Rosa Delgado de Millen y Reyna Delgado de Sylvania; sus nietos, Melanie Pineda, Nahomy Hernandez y Tate Shackelford de Metter; y varias sobrinas y sobrinos.

La visita se llevará a cabo el miércoles 2 de marzo de 2022 en la iglesia católica Holy Family en Metter de 1 a 3 de la tarde. La misa fúnebre se realizará el miércoles a las 3 de la tarde en la iglesia.

El entierro será en Lake Cemetery.
