Louise Virginia Fisher Lewis

Louise Virginia Fisher Lewis, 91, of Metter died Monday, July 20, 2015, at her home under the loving care of her family and hospice. Born in Virginia, the daughter of George Edward and Edna Virginia Simms Fisher, she moved to Metter in 2003 from Prince Frederick, Maryland. In her young years, she worked with her mother who owned a boarding house across the street from the Senate building in Washington, DC. Mrs. Lewis was a retired secretary with the U.S. Department of Navy. She was a member of the Excelsior Baptist Church. She loved her family, flower gardening and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Louise Lee Lewis and a granddaughter, Kristen Lewis.

Survivors are a son, Ted Evan Lewis of Metter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Jack Johnson of Huntingtown, Maryland, Cheryl and Gil Posey of Hernando, Florida; a brother, Maurice Fisher of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; two sisters, Nell Parker of Naples, Florida and Margie Hunter of Rockville, Maryland; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 am, at Excelsior Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Hiers officiating. Burial will be in the Excelsior Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
